Talk about literally falling down on the job!

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones had the most wide-open path to the end zone you'll ever see in an NFL game, but he didn't score!

In Thursday night's 22-21 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Jones totally fooled the Eagles on a read option, ran around right tackle and was on his way to a certain touchdown. But somehow, he fell down 10 yards short of the end zone!

Dear Scolai:

Indeed. The NFL East may well have a team "qualify" for the postseason with a 5-8 record! At least, those teams can pick up a few victories when they play each other.
And will HOST a game in the playoffs AFTER the bye week!

Dear Scolai:

There probably should be a rule stating that no team with a losing record will qualify for the playoffs, and open up another "wild card" spot should that happen, which seems likely in the NFC East.
