Dick Morris is right on the mark with his editorial 'Trump Walks Away'

I was going to compose a mini-editorial with regard to the upcoming House Of Representatives vote on Obamacare vs. Trump/Ryancare, but Dick Morris did such a good job on his Web site, and because I agree with everything he said, I'm going to post a link to his editorial instead ...

Here's the complete text of Dick Morris' editorial [boldface emphasis mine] ...

Like a rug buyer at a Turkish bazaar, Donald Trump has tired of haggling and is walking away, looking over his shoulder to see if the seller is chasing after him, agreeing to his price.

He has confronted Republicans with a choice: Vote for ObamaCare or for TrumpCare. He has taken away the middle ground. By saying he will not propose another repeal and replace package, he is forcing Republican Congressmen to grow up and face the consequences of their stubborn perfectionism.

What makes the choice especially drastic is that ObamaCare is dying right before our eyes. If it is the only option to provide health care, those who depend on it will find themselves without any protection. Within a few more months, all the health insurers will have pulled out of ObamaCare and refused to participate. They know that staying the program means that they will go broke. They know that the death spiral of fewer enrollees, higher premiums, and a sicker, older risk pool will doom the program and its insurers to insolvency.

The Ryan-Trump bill, with its new improvements is a very good one. The premiums will go down because the required services included in ObamaCare will be repealed. People will be able to buy the policies they want. Catastrophic insurance will be available to everyone who wants it. Deductibles will again become reasonable.

And subsidies will be available. The CBO may not realize it but they will not need to be as expensive as they are now because the underlying premiums will not be nearly as high. With fewer things covered, the premiums will drop.

Republican Congressmen cannot consign their constituents to a failing system. Trump has made the choice especially stark. The author of the Art of the Deal has made everyone put down their cards. Welcome to President Trump’s Washington everyone.

He needed to proof read the first sentence :)

While I agree with most, Trump is trying to rule with an iron fist which won't work.....

so let's say for a second that the Dems are doing the same hardball thing that that the reps were when BHO was trying to get his through.
So we will leave the opposing party out, this means that there just might be something in this bill that his party mates can't swallow.

Saying there is no plan B are a fools words, it doesn't matter if it is this of something else, you have to have a plan be, why do you think he delayed, he knew what was getting ready to happen. He was about to get his ass handed to him.

Dear livespive:

Regardless of the objections of some Republicans in Congress, THE LEGISLATION HAS TO BE PRESENTED IN THE MANNER IT HAS BEEN in order to have at least a minimal chance to even be considered by the Senate. Even though some changes might make the legislation more palatable to those GOP members in opposition, Senate rules regarding reconciliation (requiring only 51 votes rather than 60) prevent certain changes. Only AFTER a bill is considered by a joint committee of Congress could certain other amendments be considered (without requiring a 60-vote threshold).

Right, and there is something in it that they don't like.

You don't just pass it because Trump and Ryan say so.

Dear livespive:

At least, the Republicans are more principled than the Democrats. When a number of GOP House members didn't like what they saw in the bill, they voiced their opposition to it -- unlike the Democrats, who pushed Obamacare down everyone's throats in lockstep, and without even one dissenting vote.

Yeah, and doesn't that tell you something? Trumps plan is bad. Even with Obama's plan being bad there were enough selling points to pull the wool over people's eyes....

Trump's just sucks.

Dear livespive:

The only reason the "wool wasn't pulled over (the Democrats')
eyes" ... THEY DIDN'T EVEN READ IT.

... but eventually -- and sooner rather than later -- the time will come when virtually EVERYONE, including Democrats and liberals, will realize that Obamacare is a massive failure.

Running care were Trump care by any name it was a flaming turd that needed to be buried underground and never seen again. Tax cuts for the extremely wealthy, 24 million people uninsured, joke after joke. And the Republicans will tell you Obamacare is faling because of this and because of that. Well, all of those reasons are because Republicans quit funding the programs that Obamacare depends on period this whole last week was just another Fiasco of the Republican Party trying to repeal Obamacare for the 65th time. Trump made his first week now he walks away and washes his hands of the whole thing. What a leader.
