In Iran deal, U.S. gave ground on every issue of importance

The Obama-Kerry Iranian deal is terrifying, and it's a major concern that the nation's leadership apparently believes that Iran can be trusted.

Whether Obama and Kerry are naïve or reckless, they have placed our country, Israel and the rest of the world in a position of weakness, and we can only hope for a veto-proof rejection by Congress. So what is wrong with the deal with Iran?

* Obama and Kerry gave ground on every single issue of importance. Kerry had said that he would never accept a deal that wouldn't allow surprise visits of nuclear sites. And Obama said repeatedly that any Iranian deal must be verifiable. [However, the deal calls for Iran supplying its own samples for inspection, a verification process of 24 days, and no searching of Iranian military bases for anything.]

* Obama moved from insisting on a rollback of Iran's nuclear program to recognizing almost all of Tehran's nuclear progress. They have recognized Iran's "right" to uranium enrichment and their "right" to continue centrifuge research and development. Iran can continue its centrifuge research at smaller, difficult-to-detect enrichment sites, and Tehran can continue to win the economic war with the U.S. with most of its nuclear-weapons infrastructure intact.

* Frozen assets in the sum of hundreds of billions of dollars will be made available to Iran's "Death To America" leaders for promoting and sanctioning terrorism in many parts of the world.

* Obama is far more willing to compromise and deal with avowed terrorists than he is with members of the U.S. Congress.

* Obama is attempting to coerce Iran's supreme leader Ali Khamenei to compromise his nuclear ambitions without using America's only possible trumps: more sanctions and a serious threat of force. Khamenei loathes America, and kowtowing to the U.S. on anything would be considered a monumental act of cowardice in his eyes and those of his supporters.

* Obama continues to assert that he won't tolerate a nuclear Iran,. but not much time remains before Khamenei will have achieved a significant triumph over the U.S., and a nuclear Iran will dramatically change the course of history forever.

* Obama has essentially conceded Khamenei the bomb. The only thing that was negotiated was timing.
