Negativity is Not the Answer

All of us in the competitive bowling world share in the disappointment on hearing the news that both the Men's and Women's US Open will not be staged in 2015. While we can all move to understand the current business climate that participated the decision, the pain caused by that decision is very real and will be felt for a long time over the broad spectrum of the bowling industry.
Back in 2013, American Bowling Consortium Director of Operations, Larry Lichstein and myself read the tea leaves and began to plan alternative tournaments in the event that the unthinkable- the loss of competitive bowling's longest running major tournament, The US Open- would come to pass.
We came upon the idea of bringing back the precursor of the the US Open, The All Star to the competitive scene. At the same time, we decided to initiate a major tournament for the amateur bowler. Thus, we have added the US Amateur Match Play Championships to the schedule.
We are once again very pleased to announce that the 2014 ABC All Star Tournament will take place November 3rd thru the 8th at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno Nevada. We are also pleased to announce the staging of the 2014 US Amateur Match Play Championships held also at the NBS in Reno November 9th thru the 14th.
We encourage all tournament players to enter and enjoy participating in these two major tournaments. We have launched our new website - AmericanBowlingConsortium.com which we will use as a full featured website to bring the serious competitive bowling public all of the details, formats, schedules, projected prize funds and tournament entry processing for not just these two inaugural events but for upcoming events that the Consortium plans to offer the serious competitive bowler.
We will see you all in Reno in November!
