I'm going with "People assume that the writer is trying to demand attention" and "People may wonder if you are trying to be a rebel. This is just one of those issues of non-conformity. When you opt to do things in a way that other people are not doing them, you draw attention to yourself" for you. I may not be 100% right, but I'm close.

That's just my guess and I know you aren't changing, but you are being a j/o.

As to the OP........I always think of that clown on American Horror Story: Freak Show........dude was crazy!
