AW editorial: Democrats continue to take illogical positions

If you attempt to analyze the modern-day Democratic Party, you should logically conclude that it's a study in illogical positions.

President Biden and the Democrats act as if they have a voter mandate for radical legislation, even though the party has virtually no "wiggle room" in the Senate and a razor-thin advantage in the House.

Biden emerged as the top candidate in the 2020 presidential run because the party's mainstream knew that such candidates as Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren -- and most of the other challengers -- were far too liberal to get elected.

Therefore, in an attempt to fool the electorate, Biden and the Democrats campaigned as moderates and talked about working with Republicans. But immediately after being "installed" as president, Sleepy Joe embraced and began enacting Sanders’ far-left policies, in effect killing any hope of compromise with a moderate GOP.

Biden's multi-trillion Build Back Better lunacy is heavily criticized as highly inflationary by prominent Democratic economists, nevertheless the bill is pushed nonstop by the party's progressive wing, which asserts that more massive deficit spending wouldn't be inflationary.

Biden lambastes Red State voter laws as Jim Crow, yet those laws simply require voter identification, which most Americans support.

Further, the Democrat leadership constantly harangues Sens. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema for not "marching in lockstep" with progressive positions those senators have said, again and again, they can’t support. Perhaps one of the two will change party affiliation and give Biden and his supporters something to really howl about.
