Read the fine print. They probably exclude payment for Covid deaths because it's a declared pandemic. Much like they exempt themselves from paying out for acts of war / riots, etc...

I'm not sure on that, just the first thought that came to mind.

We had no problem getting my father's policy. Keep in mind they probably have had to pay out in a few years later anyway. The policy had already matured.
