The favorite doesn't win too often in the Kentucky Derby, and in fact, in the last 20 consecutive years in the 1900s, no favorites made it into the winner's circle.

In the 2016 Derby, however, the top choices of the betting public finished 1-2-3-4 in order, and the payoffs weren't too bad for such a result. The exacta paid 30.60, the trifecta paid 173.40, and the superfecta (the top four horses in exact order) returned 542.10.

The respective odds of the top four finishers were 2-to1, 5-to-1, 10-to-1 and 11-to-1.
