Yes, this is the liberal logic behind fossil fuels. Try to follow along.

Fossil fuels are bad for the environment. More fossil fuel burning leads to more pollution. SOOOOOOO, we stop drilling, revoke leases, ban exploration, and halt as much pipeline use as possible. Okay, this causes fuel prices to skyrocket, simple supply and demand, right? BUT, people will drive fewer miles and this will reduce the amount of carbon in the atmosphere. These are all facts. Can't deny them. But here is where the liberals are fucking nuts.
We were once energy independent. Never having to buy oil, and even selling some for profit. Economy was going well, people were employed and fuel prices to drive, ship goods, power plants running efficiently, etc. But NOW .... NOW.... the liberals are expecting us to believe that hauling oil over here in tankers that BURN 1000 gallons of oil a mile ( roughly) because our domestic oil is too dirty, will be better for the environment? AND, using trucks and trains, which is extremely dangerous, instead of a pipeline that MIGHT develop a small leak is a cleaner, safer way to transport the oil.

Let me see; domestic oil bad for environment. Imported oil cleaner, even tho we have to haul it in tankers that burn 63,000 gallons of marine oil per day. Say what?
