Not long ago, the Kansas City Royals played in back-to-back World Series (2014 and 2015), and in the first of those years, the Royals lost to the San Francisco Giants, while in 2015, KC won the title, downing the New York Mets. So how are those teams doing this season?
Yesterday (May 7), the Royals got only ONE HIT in a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Cleveland, and KC now has THE WORST RECORD in major-league baseball. The Mets got only ONE HIT in a 7-0 loss to Miami, and they are now 6.5 games from the division lead with a losing record. And the Giants got only four hits in a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Cincinnati, giving them THE WORST record in the National League.
How can good teams become bad teams so rapidly?
