Was in PA, Amish country, last week and got to try some scrapple. It was cut into "fingers" and fried, served with maple syrup. My opinion? Meh. Not bad, not good. Just kind of was. I wouldn't go out of my way for it.
I still like those Penrose hot sausages from the corner beer store. You know the ones submerged in a vinegary mix in the big jar on the counter just beside the pickled eggs..I used to eat head cheese and pickled pigs feet. That was many years ago and never to return.
