Today is when the idea of a bi-partisan govt for the people, of the people, and by the people died. Our govt is non-functional. Partisan politics, not the common good, rules the day in D.C. The founding fathers are surely rolling over in their graves. Sure, when the Dems gain back control of Congress in 2018, they can eliminate the "nuclear option" rule that they themselves introduced a few years ago but really, what will that do? Just prove that whatever party has the "muscle" at the time gets their way. Will not solve the basic problem that somehow if you're a Dem you can never be right and if you're a Reb you can never be right to the ones across the aisle. Curious to hear what the staunch defenders of the Constitution think about this as the "nuclear option". Isn't it ironic that the replacement for a SC Justice that held the Constitution sacred has just been jammed into office in this way. Wonder what the dead justice would say?

He wouldn't have had to be rammed into office this way had the dems not played politics. They don't give a fuck what's good for the country, they only care about the party. When that mentality stops, the country grows.

Dear toolguru:

Today's Senate actions have NOTHING to do with the Constitution; rather, it only involves Senate PRECEDENT.

And you prove my point succinctly
