Remember Mark McCain?

Dear Greg T:
I'm surprised that you don't recall "Cindy's Birthday" by Johnny Crawford, a No. 8 Billboard charter in the summer of 1962. And in addition to "Rumors" he also had Top 40 national hits with "Your Nose Is Gonna Grow" and "Proud."

I recall the songs but just never put 2 and 2 together. Was just surfing you tube today and saw the pic. Then it hit me.

The son of Lucas McCain on the Rifleman. Love the opening when he is rapid firing those rounds off. Did you know Chuck Connors was gay?
I don't know. I heard the rumor, but I know he was married three times and had 4 kids. Could have been smoking bone on the side, I suppose.

I don't know if Chuck connors did porn, but I heard he was a minor league baseball player who got the part because of how he caught the rifle (like a bat) when they threw it to him in his audition.

I still watch them now and then. I just never realized he was a singer with albums out.

Dear Greg T:
Actually, that would probably be a good topic. Ricky Nelson, Shaun Cassidy, Janet Jackson and Shelley Fabares all fit the category, and each of them hit the top of the charts. And off-hand, I can think of several others who hit the Top 10, in addition to Johnny Crawford: Leif Garrett, Paul Petersen, David Cassidy, Patty Duke and Annette -- and there are probably a few more. Thanks for the suggestion. I might take you up on that.
