One of the greatest British female singers, Cilla Black, died today (Aug. 2) at the age of 72. Born Priscilla White, the Liverpool songstress was discovered by Beatles manager Brian Epstein while performing at The Cavern Club (also one of the early Beatles haunts). She had only one big hit in the U.S. ("You're My World"), despite a long series of hits in her home country.

... and here, Cilla Black sings a 1964 UK chart-topper ("Anyone Who Has A Heart") with a song that was a U.S. hit by Dionne Warwick.
