I live in a Red county in AL, but in general they aren't far right. We have alot of DC and Virginia transplants due to the military base and NASA. They voted Doug Jones the first time around.

Birmingham and montgomery are solid Blue.

Lots of moderates moving out of Cali to Texas.

Lots of pro free speech and 2a liberals aren't down with identity politics.

Our neighbor currently has her brother/sister in law from Cali living with them while searching for work. I met him the other day, and he made it a point to let me know he was NOT bringing Cali's political bullshit with him, that he was a "refugee" looking to escape the madness. lol
