U.S. Budget deficit doubled (under Joe Biden) in 2023

On Friday, the U.S. government announced a budget deficit of $1.695 trillion for fiscal 2023, marking a 23 percent increase from the previous year. This substantial rise is attributed to decreased revenues and increased expenditures on Social Security, Medicare, and interest on national debt.

The Treasury Department highlighted that this is the most significant deficit since the $2.78 trillion gap in 2021, a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic. This comes after President Joe Biden’s administration witnessed consecutive declines in deficits during his initial two years in office.

No good answers for Biden as voters recoil over border crossings

WASHINGTON — Worried about the large numbers of people crossing the border from Mexico, Rep. Henry Cuellar of Texas went to White House officials with some advice: Get the word out about all the people the Biden administration has been deporting in hopes of deterring undocumented migrants from entering the country.

Joe Biden’s advisers weren’t sold. “They said it would anger the immigration advocates — it would anger their folks on that,” Cuellar, a Democrat, said in an interview.

The explanation captures the president’s dilemma and the delicate balance he has tried to strike when it comes to the fraught issue of immigration. Biden is facing a monumental crisis as unlawful border crossings spike and migrants arrive in crowded cities with no jobs or places to sleep, stirring resentment among Democratic governors and mayors who are part of his governing coalition. At the same time, tough enforcement measures risk alienating Hispanic voters who are part of Biden’s political base.

Biden judicial pick couldn't answer basic questions about Constitution

A judicial nominee who failed to answer basic questions about the Constitution during her confirmation hearing has withdrawn her nomination, according to Reuters.

Spokane County Superior Court Judge Charnelle Bjelkengren, who President Joe Biden nominated in September 2022 to serve on the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington, asked the White House not to resubmit her name for consideration after her nomination expired at the end of 2023, Reuters reported Tuesday. Bjelkengren came under fire after she could not answer Republican Louisiana Sen. John Kennedy’s questions about what Articles 5 and 2 of the Constitution state during her Jan. 2023 confirmation hearing.

Biden's gibberish at Wisconsin brewery ignites social media sh*t storm

President Joe Biden faced a wave of criticism on social media platforms on Thursday following a series of verbal missteps during a speech at a Wisconsin brewery.

The President was at Earth Rider Brewery in Superior, Wisconsin, where he was promoting his economic achievements, often referred to as "Bidenomics," and the success of his bipartisan infrastructure bill, as part of his campaign for re-election in 2024.

However, the President's economic discourse was overshadowed online by a prolonged blunder he made concerning the brewery and its beer. Midway through his speech, he seemed to mumble, "The beer brewed here, it is used to make the brew beered here." The sentence was largely incoherent, but he appeared to add, "Ooh, Earth Rider, thanks for the Great Lakes. I wonder why …" His words were drowned out by the audience's laughter, although it was unclear what they found amusing.

Biden Administration defies SCOTUS, erases $1.2B student debt

On Wednesday, February 21, the Biden administration approved the cancellation of another $1.2 billion in federal student loan debt. This latest action brings the total amount of debt forgiven under President Biden to nearly $138 billion, exceeding any other president in history.

The latest tranche of relief targets borrowers participating in the administration’s Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) program, specifically those who took out $12,000 or less and have been making payments on time for at least ten years. However, borrowers with initial debts between $12,000 and $20,000 can still qualify for full forgiveness by making additional years of consistent payments.

My Granddaughter is extremely pissed about this. She only has a couple of years of grad-school to go before being a doctor, and she has been attending Central Mich full time and working two jobs to pay her way while going so as to minimize the debt afterwards. All while remaining on the Dean's list. She's working her poor little ass to the bone to help herself, while others have had their debt removed because their degree in Western pissant sexual studies hasn't panned out.
