I just watched a segment of Rachel Maddow (i felt like so much crap with my pneumonia I didn't even want to change channels) and she was talking about normalizing relations with Cuba. I didn't know this, but had Kennedy lived plans were in the works to do so. Castro had initiated a dialogue to back-channel talks and Kennedy had given the OK to do so. Final agreement was transmitted to US officials on Nov. 23, 1963. Interesting.

Listening to Dan Le Betard now. I agree with him in that much of this is more about show than real change for Cuba.
