Do any of you know what that actually means?
Almost always it means take some funding from police budget to fund people to take over jabs done previously by police that are more suited to mental health professionals and others . Things like wellness checks. Would you rather have police go see if Granny Goodbumps is alive and well or perhaps a social worker could do it. I don’t think anyone has seriously proposed eliminating police departments.

DALLAS IS TALKING ABOUT TAKING PROJECTED OVERTIME MONEY AND MOVING IT ELSEWHERE. POLICE HAVE HAD MORE OVERTIME THAN IN THE PAST BECAUSE OF PROTESTING AND THE RONA. SO IF A POPO IS CHASING A BANK ROBBER, AND HIS EIGHT HOURS ENDS, DOES HE HEAD TO THE STATION OR FOLLOW THE BANK ROBBER ON HIS OWN TIME? THEN IF HE WRECKS OUT, IS IT ON HIM OR THE POPO? Some have. Very far left antifa want NO police.

If we are talking basic wellness checks in my town, social workers do that.

Social workers can not de escalate a domestic issue. It's the most dangerous call many police make. We had a case here where the man beat his wife and the wife shot an officer when they put the husband in cuffs. Messed up


I've also heard to use traffic officers for tickets. Good luck. We had a meter maid get in a fight with someone illegally parked in a handicap spot. Police had to come. What if one of these unarmed traffic officers gets shot giving a speeding ticket?
