Guilty

I honestly figured if a guilty verdict on the murder 2 charge came back, it was due to a) jury made up their mind before trial or b) don't want to get killed and their city to burn.

Murder 3 doesn't even make sense in the situation (why it will be open for appeal) and I just don't see intent for a murder 2.

Manslaughter was the only charge he might have been guilty of.

The cop wanted Floyd dead. No honor among criminals. These two knew each other. That counterfeit bill was going to expose a much bigger operation. Dead men can't testify. Now let's see if Chauvin sings.

Wasn't any evidence by the prosecution of any of this. Zero.

Because the prosecutor wanted a trial based on race. The public demanded it and the media fueled it. Regardless, Chauvin got what he deserved. Will the REAL story ever be told? Don't count on it.

Dear Djarum300:

The prosecution didn't need to present any such evidence. That would have muddled the racial components of their presentation, and as REVerse said earlier, prosecutors wanted a trial based on race.

The entire thing was a kangaroo court to begin with. I was still a believer in the "innocent until PROVEN guilty" type of justice. I guess that is long gone. A jury verdict should be based upon evidence with lack of reasonable doubt? Seriously? A body packed full of enough drugs to kill 4 people and resisting arrest while flailing around like a fucking lunatic isn't reasonable doubt on a MURDER charge? The whole thing in a nutshell is that the media is the judge, jury and executioner when it comes to a race charge. Nobody gives a rat's ass about the whites killed by blacks or cops.

The video
Shit all they needed was the damn video.
The video was a lie. If any reasonable person watched all the videos, listened to the testimony, and saw howd drugged up Floyd was, there was plenty of reasonable doubt. He's the thing, if he tazed Floyd, as even the prosecution witness said would have been more force, he would have died of a heart attack instantly. And tazing Floyd would have been well within the bounds.

The fundamental problem here is that un-informed and un-educated people believe that what Chauvin did was excessive, even when testimony shown that it wasn't. That more force could have been used.

Imagine now. A drunk driver gets pulled over and is beligerent. Cop puts the drunk driver "forcefully" in the car, has a heart attack, and the driver dies, boom, now murder.

You'll have to show me some hard evidence/investigation for me to believe any of that. I read some on the ground journalism months ago even stating that while they worked at the bar at one time, it was quite possible that they never even had met.

As far as race goes, that wasn't brought up either. Just how Floyd died.

I saw the entire 45 minute video. You know, the one that was removed and banned? He's lucky they beat the fuck out of him before he died. And, you're right. Tazing him would have killed him. Sitting him up against the SUV would have allowed him to die. He was a dead man walking with all the shit in him.

For Reference:

Alan Dershowitz on Second Degree Murder

"Second degree murder in Minnesota is Felony Murder. Now, what the court said is that the underlying felony in this case could be assault. Now think about the implications of that. That means that every killing, every unintended killing, automatically becomes felony murder, involves an assault. .You point a gun, assault, you pull the trigger, battery, and that's why virtually every court in America has ruled that an assault cannot be an underlying cause for felony murder......"

He goes on and talks about the "merger rule", in that the assault which causes the homicide cannot be used for felony murder, or in this case Second degree murder.

Second degree murder in Minnesota, would be like robbing the bank (felony) and someone dying, say, from an accidental discharge, would be felony murder.

The reason that this is so dangerous is that Cops who use any force could be held to felony murder as the force used to subdue a suspect would be treated as the felony assault if that suspect dies, even unrelated to the force used..

Listen I saw the entire video, he may of had drugs in his system but once he was subdued it should have stopped.
That video was hard to watch but the last 3 or so minutes he was dead for all intensive purposes. there was no coming back from that. After about 3 or 4 minutes they should have gotten off of him, it was over.

And if you say that cop did nothing wrong then there is no hope for you.

Nobody is saying the cop wasn't wrong. That's cut and dried. But murder? No fucking way. As I said, they could have propped him up against the side of that SUV and he was gonna die. THAT is a shadow of doubt.

With Greg here. I also don't think it's nearly as cut and dry as that one video. If he was tased he'd probably be dead too. Even if Chauvins got off after a few minutes he could be dead.

That's the issue at hand. I do believe there was neglegence but not felony assult.

IF HE HAD DIED LEANED UP AGAINST THE CAR THAT WOULD REMOVE THE KNEE TO THE THROAT STANCE. THEN THERE IS NO CHANCE OF A MURDER CONVICTION. THERE IS NO PROOF HE WOULD HAVE DIED LEANED UP AGAINST THE CAR. NO PROOF AT ALL.

I DONT KNOW DJ. "PROBABLY BE DEAD" / "COULD BE DEAD" / KNEE TO THROAT "IS DEAD".

Enough fentanyl in his system to kill 4 people, PLUS cocaine. Yeah, he'd be dead.

DONT MOST ALL DRUG ADDICTS NEED MORE AND MORE TO GET THE HIGH THEY WANT? SAYING HE HAD ENOUGH DRUGS IN HIM TO KILL 4 PEOPLE? 4 PEOPLE THAT WERNT USED TO IT OR HADNT BUILT UP RESISTANCE TO IT, SURE. DIDNT KILL HIM BEFORE HE GOT TO THE STORE. DIDNT KILL HIM IN THE STORE. DIDNT KILL HIM OUTSIDE THE STORE. NOBODY DIED UNTIL SOMEONE WAS ON THE GROUND WITH SOMEONE ELSES KNEE IN THEIR THROAT, FOR 9 MINUTES. DRUGS DIDNT KILL HIM.
