Not sure what to think of Millennials (Iowa caucus)

The greatest enemy of change is believing it's impossible. That message is resonating with younger voters.
I hope I'm wrong and you're right in regards to change via voting. And I don't believe change is impossible... I'm just not sure peaceful change is possible. The wealthy will give up their cash, power, and influence just as easily (and by the same means) as you'd get GregT's guns; when you pry it out of their cold, dead hands.

I think we might have gotten close......

It will take the money of Trump, Passion of Sanders, and have to be calm as Carson.
Trump, and Sanders have the passion, but Trump is not the one of the two I want at the table with the enemy.
It would be a Carson/Sander type that I would want. You would only be taking the best from each.

I think you've hit it. 1) I'm not convinced that a candidate not beholden to the establishment can get elected (the deck is stacked against them), and 2) even if one did get through, what are the odds that person would be strong enough to resist the bribes, kickbacks (or possibly threats to himself/family) and not cave to the establishment or just get out?

I'll agree people are waking up and pissed off, but so many resources and power have been amassed by "The Establishment", I'm not sure sure the ship can be righted peacefully.

If the general election were to be held today, I am at a loss of who I would vote for. However, I definitely wouldn't vote for Hillary because of all of the baggage she carries. Emails, lies, cover-ups, cheating, untrustworthy, and etc., yet the media constantly promotes her so the uninformed people still love her. I don't get it. I will admit that she is the most experienced and qualified of all of the candidates and could do a really good job, but the problem is that she is not trustworthy and more so than all of the other candidates.

You don't think Trump lashing out and hurling insults at Khamenei or Putin would end well? lol

I just don't feel good about the next 4 years... 8 if the witch gets elected.

Hmmm Trump and Putin on the mat MMA style. Putin knocks that rug right off of Trump's head :)
Inside or outside of a mat, Putin would probably destroy Trump or any of the current candidates. Putin is ex-KGB, so he knows combat, weapons and the dirty side of Russian politics. Watch the way he walks.

Dear WAMO:

Sadly, you're correct, and I don't see the system ever getting "fixed" ... and that's regardless of who gets elected in the future. The election of Barack Hussein Obama was just about the last straw.

I agree ... He has "F" it up worse than any of the others before him ... And most all of the executive action he has taken on things that are wrong and of which congress also says are wrong, never seem to stop. He has more of these than any other president before him and still counting with another year to go.

Even racism has increased under him.

Trump is the only guy I'd want at the negotiation tables with our enemies. Carson is a wimp assed pussy, Cruz would fold like a cheap suit and Rubio would have his tail between his legs. The rest are not worth the effort to explain. On the other side, The Fucking Felon and the Cocksucking Commie will take this country the rest of the way down. I'll make a bet that if either the cunt or the commie get elected there will be war on our turf during their stay. I'll also go far enough to say there will be groups of resistance escalating to a revolution. Look how low Bam Bam has taken us. Just think what could be next.

I remember thinking he was pretty shrewd making that pick to gain the feminist vote when Hillary was dropped for Barack. Then Sarah had to open her mouth... the rest is history. If she'd just shut her mouth and stood beside Mr. McCain wearing short skirts and tight, lowcut tops with no bra for 12 months he'd have had a chance!

Is the public school system today. They're indoctrinating our young into the socialist mindset.
I don' t agree with that.

Even if it is the schools, then its the government in which we vote for, and the standards dictated by the government.

Right now there is a cavern between what Employers want and what schools, including colleges, are providing in education. It was beaten into Millenials that a 4 year degree was a requirement. Many take on student loans, and even in good disciplines, can't find a job because Employers keep changing the requirements. Sure, there are plenty of useless degrees out there, but even the more useful degree'd graduates are having a hard time finding work because the education was "lacking". Fundamentally Employers need to be more involved in the educational system, especially at the collegiate and highschool level.

So anyone surprised when the youth take on huge amounts of debt to get a degree and they can't get a job vote republican or socialist? I'm not. Republicans don't do themselves any favor when they align themselves with Corporate America and Corporate America isn't doing anything about the education system.

Greg,

When was the last time you went to college? That might have been the case in the 70's and 80's, but not nowadays. Considering that many colleges have a significant amount of foreign professors who could care less about American politics. Sure, the liberal arts department might be filled with Liberals, but that is a vast minority considering all the other programs out there.

What's driving the youth to liberalism (or even socialism) is the fact that the system beaten into them for years failed them, created by Corporate America, the middle class, and both Republicans and Democrats.

I'll be 35 soon, but I think I'm still considered Gen X. I see folks 5 years younger than me and I feel lucky that I'm not in the same boat that they are in. I'm in a boat where I can still bail water. They don't have the bail.

The only choice these kids have is to still live with either Mom and Dad, go get a different degree, or go get a remedial job just to barely pay back their student loans.
