There was a startling headline on today's front page, reading: FORECASTERS PREDICT SLOW HURRICANE SEASON.
And it's startling because this is the first time in decades that the so-called weather "experts" have issued such a prediction. Year after year, the pre-season forecast calls for a hearty hurricane season, presumably to keep Floridians (and others in hurricane-prone areas) not to be complacent. After all, no hurricane has hit Florida in 10 years.
But because the experts don't seem to ever be correct, residents of the Sunshine State had better be on guard for a heavy dose of hurricanes (and hurricane threats).
