Well, it is possible in this country.
In a desperate attempt to save electricity, drought-stricken Venezuela has introduced a new concept to the workplace calendar: the five-day weekend.

Hmmm... I kinda like electricity an no rioting in my neighborhood. But 5 day weekends! It's going to be a tough choice.

... but of course, some would demand the equivalent of $15 an hour pay based on 40 hours, even though there would only be 16 hours of work involved.

... or while we're at it, how about 40 consecutive hours -- for example, 4 a.m. Monday through 8 p.m. Tuesday?
