Trump Casino Stats

And yet, he still started out with a $1M loan and turned it into multi-billions. I would call that a yuuuuuuuuge success. It just shows he can win even when losing. .....IF those stats are even accurate.

He made a lot of it by cheating smaller businesses out of their pay for their work.

And a big IF you can believe his claims of his wealth. He won't release his tax returns for any kind of verification.

His income taxes reported $76,000 in income in 1975, $25,000 in income in 1976 and $118,000 in income in 1977. He paid no income tax in 1978 and 1979 as he reported negative income, likely because of tax shelters.

The last time information from Donald Trump’s income-tax returns was made public, the bottom line was striking: He had paid the federal government $0 in income taxes.

This is what I could find on his loan:

Part of this deal was a $1 million loan that Donald's father Fred's Village Construction Corp. made to help repay draws on a Chase Manhattan credit line that Fred had arranged for Trump as he built the hotel, as well as a $70 million construction loan which was jointly guaranteed by Fred and the Hyatt hotel chain. Fred Trump was a silent partner in the initiative, due to his reputation having been damaged in New York real estate circles after investigations into windfall profits and other abuses in his real estate projects,

Moreover, Trump’s claim that he built a real-estate fortune out of a “small” $1 million loan is simply not credible. He benefited from numerous loans and loan guarantees, as well as his father’s connections, to make the move into Manhattan. His father also set up lucrative trusts to provide steady income. When Donald Trump became overextended in the casino business, his father bailed him out with a shady casino-chip loan—and Trump also borrowed $9 million against his future inheritance. While Trump asserts “it has not been easy for me,” he glosses over the fact that his father paved the way for his success — and that his father bailed him out when he got into trouble.

And he would have made more by investing that 1 mil into the stock market.

Here you go.

But, this is supposed to be about Trump. Any comments about the topic of this thread?
Dear MI2AZ:

Then, in fairness, how about a graphic that shows how many of Trump's business ventures have succeeded as compared to the number of his business ventures that failed?

I don't have that, nor do I have any interest in it. To me, he is a crook. If you want to prove otherwise, go right ahead. I have to leave right now so no time.

I do. He owns well over 500 successful businesses. 4 casinos in Atlantic city went bankrupt because of the sinking economy. I'll take those odds.

I don't think anyone really knows how many businesses he actually owns outright. He has a part in a lot and likes to rent out his name as a brand on a lot of other businesses but that doesn't mean he owns them.
Anyone remember Trump Airlines or Trump Ice or Trump Vodka?

his business record is less sterling than he suggests.

“Donald Trump is not a major player in New York City real estate,” said Jordan Barowitz, director of external affairs at the Durst Organization. “My guess is [that he owns] about 1.5 million square feet total. For comparison, the Durst Organization owns 13 million square feet in Manhattan.”

Much of the confusion stems from the fact that Trump frequently licenses his name to products — and buildings — he has not developed and does not own, such as the hotel and condominium Trump Soho in Manhattan and the Trump International Hotel & Tower in Dubai.

Listen, you all don't have to convince me on Hillary...........I'm not voting for her. But don't try and convince me on Trump......b/c objectively he's bad. They're both objectively bad.

It's a bizarre thing how anytime Trump receives criticism it's an auto re-direction to Hillary. It's OK to admit both candidates are terrible.

In this case no, the OP is talking about Trump's casino. Killary has nothing to do with that (at least we don't think so)
In most of the Obama discussions where Bush come up, they are saying that Obama got the mess from Bush.

Trump is own his own in this post.

That's not what I meant. I was referring to this: "It's a bizarre thing how anytime Trump receives criticism it's an auto re-direction to Hillary."

Dear Good Times Good Times:

It's also a bizarre thing how anytime Hillary received criticism it's an auto re-direction to Trump. Is it not?
