That is not uncommon. I have had it done for 24 hours. You get your extra towels when you check in and say you don't want you bed turned.

They can knock, but cannot enter without a manager.....

He could have been sitting in the room when they knocked and said I don't need anything, they would have left him alone.
Dear livespive:

Here's a story about what Steve Wynn, who owns a number of Las Vegas hotel-casinos, said yesterday ...

Las Vegas casino mogul Steve Wynn suggested Sunday that Stephen Paddock would have set off alarm bells at his properties had he tried launching his mass murder from one of them.

Wynn, after whom the glitzy Wynn Las Vegas on the Strip is named, said his housekeeping staff is trained to do a visual inspection any time they enter a room, adding that a “Do Not Disturb” sign on a door for longer than 12 hours is investigated.

“The scenario that we’re aware of would have indicated that [Paddock] didn’t let anyone in the room for two or three days,” Wynn told “Fox News Sunday.” “That would have triggered a whole bunch of alarms here.”

I think the lack of burn marks in the carpet could be explained by the material. The bowling alley my parents owned had carpet that was apparently flame retardant. It was a really old carpet, in a bowling alley, when everyone still smoked in public buildings. You'd think a few cigarette burns would exist, but there wasn't a single one. I suspect hotels might use a similar product - when was the last time you saw a cigarette burn in a hotel carpet? Thus the explanation for hot casings leaving no mark.

Why show the room that they didn't find him in??? :)

But I do agree 100%, when the shooting started, it shouldn't have taken as long as it did.
Would love to have Rob here to get insight on how long it would take to mobilize on something like this.

Don't forget the fact that a security person from the hotel was the first responder and it took him 72 minutes to enter the room. WHY? Also, nobody that I know of is using pics of the other room. WHY? Also, even after only about 30 seconds of auto-fire that entire rifle would be extremely hot. Too hot to hold. BUT, then there's that problem again. 30 seconds of fire would equal 150 HOT casings. 15 minutes of fire would be about 4500 HOT casings, and so on. No burns, and only "dozens" of spent casings. And still, no images or reports on the room he WASNT in. WHY?

different hotels do things different ways. Like I said, I was able to do 24, and he is VIP, all he had to do was flash a few $100's
and he had privacy.

Even bring the stuff up, the bell hop could have been pushing the cart and not known what it was.
