Is a vote no...

A vote for Obamacare?

My representative Mo Brooks isn't going to vote yes on this replacement legislation. The legislation is crap imho. But people here are pretty much saying it's a vote for Obamacare.

In general, I'm tired of folks thinking or believing a vote no on a bill is a vote yes for something else. That just maybe having a backbone is worth more. Just like members who didn't vote for a budget bill increasing VA money when those legislatures said they wouldn't sign it until Obamacare was repealed in the bill.

So everyone assumes these legislatures are against VA funding which was not the case.

Yeah, and Trump tries to blame the Dems, that ain't it. If he could have flipped 6 of his own it would have passed.
What does that tell you? Someone on his side knows that his bill is no good.

Dear Djarum300:

Whether or not a vote (that never happened) was technically a vote for either Ryancare or Obamacare, it did mean that the unraveling Obamacare will remain in effect -- probably until such time as at least some Democrat supporters of Obamacare come to the stark realization that the Democrats fully "own" a bill that will prove unsustainable, even to them.

I haven't heard many comments from Rep. Brooks about the replacement proposal, but more than likely, I would have agreed with his stance on the issue. On the other hand, I'll find it difficult to have much sympathy for the Democrats (and the Democrat voters) when the Obamacare law that they foisted on the American people goes down in flames (so to speak), as it surely will.

... but even though that bill couldn't gather enough votes, it was still A LOT BETTER than Obamacare.

IF it was then he would have been able to flip the 6 reps that he needed.

That's what everyone is forgetting, It obvious that enough Reps feel that this bill will "implode" just like Obamacare while doing more immediate harm, and they don't want that.

Like I said in your post the Dems might have voted no to vote no, but there were enough Reps on it so that should not have mattered.......

So what is wrong with the plan? Why pull it?

They had no plan b and now they "we" are paying for it.....

The key is to stop talking about "Obamacare" it is about improving health care, if trump would have came at the bill thinking "we need to improve health care" instead of, " I am going to look at Obamacare and rip out everything I don't like" he would have faired better.

Dear livespive:

If you haven't figured it out yet, "we" are all -- and will continue to be -- "paying" for the disastrous Obamacare. And Trump is correct when he implies that Obamacare is in its death throes.

Yes I have figured it out, but my point is that if Trump's plan is so much better, he would have been able to get the 6 Dem votes that he needed.

Not true. A dem voting for a trump bill would only prove they were wrong in the first place. They will have no part of that. This is long past what's good for the people. It's all about liberal control and saving face. I don't give a rat's ass if Trump came up with a plan that would encompass the entire population for free, and be no cost to the tax payers, the fucking liberals would not vote for it.

The Repubs are dumbasses. They've had 8 years. 8 FUCKING YEARS! To put their heads together and come up with a better plan and they come up with this half-assed bullshit. It's almost as ridiculous as "We have to pass the bill to see what's in it."

I can't believe the idiocity that comes out of D.C. - from ALL sides. It's sad and crushes any hope we have of being better than we are as a country.

They'll not do anything that proves him right. Cutting off their noses to spite their faces is about all they're good for now.

Republicans never really thought healthcare was an issue before Obamacare. Deregulation, reduce hospital costs, and sell insurance across state lines was pretty much all they had.

Oops sorry about that... That was a typo, I meant to say Rep as there were still Rep holding out.
I knew he wasn't going to get anything from the Dems (Monday morning :Coffee:) I don't drink it :(

See that is one thing that I think should happen. There are certain things that even if they are "controlled" by the government they should not have party lines. I know it's hard but that's what is needed, the goal is to fix healthcare, it doesn't matter who is doing it if it done right.
