Didn't someone post here earlier in the year that if Trump lost the GOP vote, Trump would run as an independent?
Why was there insistence that Trump pledge not to run as a third-party candidate, yet the GOP establishment is now supposedly (and frantically) seeking third-party alternatives?

I don't know why the crazy GOP does anything.
Was that after this event dated 31 March 2016?

In a recent CNN Town Hall, Donald Trump told Anderson Cooper that he is backing away from his pledge to support the eventual Republican Nominee, whoever that might be. Which implies that Trump may be open to running for president as an Independent.
